Therapy & Clinical Work

Why see a neuropsychologist?

Neuropsychologists are often known for assessments and evaluations for a number of contexts and conditions, from ADHD to traumatic brain injuries or specific learning disorders. A neuropsychologist is a psychologist that has received training in understanding the relationship between brain functioning, behavior, cognition, and emotions. I build on this framework to provide therapy to children, adolescents and adults.

My approach to assessment and therapy is evidence-based, informed by research on cognitive, social and emotional development, and integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

For children and teenagers:

- Assessment, therapy and guidance for all genders, including girls and young women with ADHD, ASD and learning disabilities who are often under-diagnosed or wrongly diagnosed;

- Specialized in social interactions and social cognition: in-depth assessment of theory of mind, empathy, prosocial behavior, and guidance for typically developing children as well as children with more atypical development, in the case of epilepsy, after a traumatic brain injury or stroke, or neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD, ASD, communication and learning difficulties and disabilities;

- Expertise in children's neuropsychological assessment (intellectual functioning and cognitive abilities including attention, memory, language, executive functions, social cognition);

- Support and guidance for children and teens struggling to fit into a new culture

...And parents:

- Trained to provide diagnosis and support for parent burnout and therapy for parents experiencing anxiety;

- Parental guidance and support for parents of children living with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders;

- Support for parents struggling to adapt to a new culture.
